To work as a salesperson in real estate you will need to complete the National Certificate in Real Estate (Salesperson) (Level 4). This is an entry level qualification, and upon completion you will have met the requirements to be a licensed salesperson.
The first step in the process is to enquire if there is a vacancy in the office of your choice. The manager of the relevant Bayleys office will act as your point of contact to the industry while completing the course. Once you have obtained your real estate license the expectation is that you would join their team as an independent contractor and commence your real estate sales career.
Service providers that we recommended using to obtain your license are Skills and Open Polytechnic. Both options are delivered fully online, with a face to face element as the final assessment. When you have gained your qualification you can then apply to the Real Estate Authority (REA) for your real estate license. All up this can take from six weeks to six months to complete.
